Here in Africa, a clay pot has many more uses than just the aesthetic function of a decoration in any building or as a flower pot;particularly in the rural areas. It can be used to COOK, particularly when steel or aluminum pots and pans are not known, used or afforded. It can be used to FETCH amongst other things, particularly where portable water is unavailable. It can be used to PRESERVE, some certain perishable items, though this may sound strange for those of us who are used to modern methods such as refrigeration. It can be used to SERVE some certain edibles and drinks, probably because the host does not know, cannot afford or has no preference for ceramics and china. Not to talk about STORAGE of the water fetched or local brew made. The list goes on and on.

Which goes to explain why I opted to name my personal blog after the pot…because in actuality that is the meaning of the word tukunyan: It is many things in one. However one simple definition of that ‘many things’ to me is that it is my own way of sharing my thoughts and facts with as many people as I wish to reach in a simple, accessible and organized manner.

Click on the HANDWORK tab and you’d find therein real life opportunities that you can explore for personal and professional advancement. From time to time I could publish interesting and/or entertaining articles for mental relaxation or stretch as the need arises. Also the MINDCRAFT tab contains a repository of e-books that you could download, use and even re-distribute…. for free!TOOLSBOX is a collection of tools that have been openly sourced available for your employment to carry out strategic expressions. Should you get toYOUREACHME, a simple introduction of who I am and what I do is posted;at least that makes this not to be a ‘faceless’ reality.Do not neglect to access the links displayed on the BLOGROLL, which contains a profile of websites that I believe you will find useful as is as such advertised for free here. Also, please sign on as a SUBSCRIBER, as that will automatically put you on the list of those who would get notified via email of every new update or post that carried out.

Welcome to my potful of ideas, thoughts, information, tools as well as whole lot more. Please as often as time, resources and opportunity can afford you the chance, come by here, dip your laddle in and fetch enough to enjoy…. and I actually hope that you never fill up.Even if you do, whenever the hunger or  thirst bites again, come by here. Most importantly, spread the word and tell the world about this. That way we can together spread the goodwill and make our community, society and possibly the whole wide world a better place.

Visit, enjoy and share!

Welldone! And congratulations on deciding to put up a blog. I however take an exception to these statements in your openning blog: “It can be used to COOK, particularly when steel or aluminum pots and pans are not known, used or afforded…….probably because the host does not know, cannot afford or has no preference for ceramics and china”.
It might interest you to know that even when the so-called steel or aluminum pots and pans are known, earthen ware pots are still used. They are used to serve certain delicacies such as the popular “nkwobi” from the east and certain other traditional soups. In fact meals cooked in an earthen pot taste differently from those cooked in the so called modern pots. Believe me i know, my mum even with a tastefully equipped kitchen often treats my dad to sumptous meals eaten straight from an earthen ware pot.
I know the crux of your blog isn’t about earthen ware pots but i feel it’s important to do a good job on any subject matter.
I wish you well with your blog, hope you don’t experience the writer’s block much. Looking forward to reading more interesting pieces frm you.
